Live production by source comes from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform and Energinet;
carbon intensity uses IPCC AR5 lifecycle factors from emission-factors.json.
Energy independence compares generation with domestic demand at this instant — a grid can
exceed 100 % by exporting. Balanced mix is a Shannon diversity index, reliability weights
each source by how dispatchable it is, and nuclear is measured per million people.
Population and installed capacity are 2025 annual figures. Grids whose feed is reporting
under 300 MW are listed but cannot medal, because partial data would flatter them.
Snapshots are a moment in time, not a yearly average: solar medals go to whoever has sun
right now.
