π Battle Cards
Top Trumps, played on Europe's grids right now. You and the computer get eight country cards each. Pick one of the five stats on your top card β highest wins, except gCOβ/kWh, where lower wins. The winner takes both cards; whoever lost the round chooses the next stat. First to run out of cards loses, or after 20 rounds the bigger pile wins. Everyone gets the same deck each day.

Renewable share, carbon intensity and generation come from the live ENTSO-E / Energinet
feeds (refreshed every 10 minutes) β carbon intensity is computed from the mix with IPCC
AR5 lifecycle factors. Population and installed nuclear capacity are annual figures from
countries-insights.json (2025). Renewable share counts hydro, wind, solar,
biomass, geothermal, waste, marine and other renewables; nuclear is low-carbon but not
renewable.
