Where the SDA Token community happens

Real people, real questions, real governance — across six channels. Start on Telegram for the fastest answer, or pick whichever platform fits how you already keep up with things.

Channels

How we communicate

Different channels suit different conversations — most active DAOs use a mix of all three:

Real-time (Telegram / Discord)

Fast, informal. Typical channels: #general, #governance, #technical, #financial, #announcements (read-only).

Long-form (Governance forum)

Threaded, structured debate for each proposal — detailed analysis, questions, amendments. Launching soon.

Community calls

Monthly video meetings on active proposals and working-group updates, recorded for anyone who can't attend live.

Non-technical ways to contribute

No technical or financial background needed for any of these — and they build the trust that leads to bigger roles:

  • Plain-English proposal summaries
  • Helping new members find their footing
  • Community-call notes for people who missed it
  • Translating key documents
  • Sharing updates, writing about the project

How governance works

Why your vote matters, how proposals move, and how to evaluate one — SDA uses token-weighted voting.

Working groups & roles

Beyond voting, governance-token holders contribute through working groups — small committees focused on one domain.

Working group Focus Time / month
Technical Engineering, technology selection, resource assessments 3–5 h
Financial Financial modelling, risk assessment, distribution policy 4–6 h
Environmental & Impact Impact measurement, carbon accounting, sustainability reporting 2–4 h
Community & Communications Onboarding, documentation, education, moderation 3–5 h

Community roles

Role How you get there
Member Hold tokens, introduce yourself — vote, ask questions, learn
Active Contributor 3+ months, regular voting — proposal feedback, working-group participation
Working Group Lead 6+ months, demonstrated expertise — coordinate a group, synthesize analysis
Core Contributor 1+ year, significant impact — strategic planning, mentoring

Progression is merit-based and informal — consistently valuable contributions earn trust naturally.

Community norms

Do

  • Listen first, then debate
  • Explain your reasoning when you vote
  • Challenge ideas, not people
  • Help newcomers feel welcome

Don't

  • Personal attacks or motive-questioning
  • Spam or promotional content
  • Vote without reading the proposal
  • Spread FUD without evidence

Staying informed

  • Weekly digest of active proposals
  • Governance dashboard (quorum, deadlines)
  • Community-call calendar
  • Monthly/quarterly project reports

Realistically, active participants spend 3–5 hours a month staying informed and voting; working-group leads invest 10–15 hours.
